Boating & Utah Lake

Phil & Keli invited us to help them test out their boat this past weekend. We had so much fun! Phil, we are really glad that your boat is fixed finally :) We'd love to go out boating with you guys any time. The kids are already begging me to call you and ask you if they can go again ;) The weather was perfect and the water temperature was perfect. We had so much fun!!!

Singin' in the Rain

So, last week we had a tremendous amount of rain hit around us. It started with a few huge rain drops and then quickly turned into big balls of hail. Then it turned into a huge downpour. My mom IM'd me and asked if we had started building our ark yet. We almost had to. Anyway, the kids enjoyed playing out in the rain and in the gutters afterwards. I had to get out the camera that day. I thought I'd share those with you :)

Exciting Night!!!

Okay, so last night I did something that I have been waiting for most of my life. What is this momentus occasion? . . . Curious? . . . Really? . . . Okay, I saw Jimmy Osmond, live, in person! (Oh, the rest of the Osmond family was there too)

For those of you who don't know, I have had a crush on Jimmy since I was probably 7 or 8 years old. I used to watch the Donny & Marie Show and kiss the TV screen EVERY TIME Jimmy would be on! I had books, posters, etc of Jimmy. My favorite movie for a long time was The Great Brain! (I wish I could find a copy of the movie now!!!) Anyway, I had (have) a huge crush on Jimmy.

Last night my friend Kim and I went to the Conference Center to the Pioneer Day Celebration. We listened to the Tabernacle Choir and the Symphony at Temple Square and really enjoyed it. Then the Osmonds came out. You should have seen me . . . I had to remind myself over and over to breathe. Oh man, Jimmy was still HOT! I was in HEAVEN!!! The concert was amazing, but I loved being in the same building as Jimmy (even just for 1-1/2 hours).

Thanks Kim for getting tickets and allowing me to go with you! I will be your friend for ever and ever!!! ;)

Memories

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. You don't have to know me really well - - anything will do!!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

It's been fun writing out my memories on my friend's blogs. I hope that even if you don't have a blog, you'll still comment and leave a memory. =)

Flashback Friday

Uncle Randy with Meredith, Allison & Julie. Not sure of the date, but probably around 1972 or 1973???

Aunt Kris, me and Uncle Randy. Again, not sure of the date, but probably in 1969.

I thought it would be fun to start adding some "old" pictures I have and participate in Flashback Friday. Today's flashback is a tribute to Aunt Kris and Uncle Randy. They are getting remarried on August 4th (the day I leave for New Zealand). Maria, I thought you'd get a kick out of these photos! ;)

Reflection on Life

I was sitting here trying to figure out why I was feeling kind of "weird" today. I've been home cleaning all day long. I haven't wanted to get out and drive anywhere. I looked at the calendar (and had to ask Mom) and realized what day it was. It is July 16th. What is the significance of this date? Well, 23 years ago my two youngest brothers and I were in a MAJOR car accident and nearly lost our lives.

Doug (8) and Phil (6) and I (16) were on our way back home from visiting Mom at work at UPS and then from the video store. We were making a left hand turn at the corner of 2200 West and 4700 South. The light turned red and I proceeded to make the left hand turn. Coming straight toward us was a dump truck that ran the red light. The car I was driving, a tiny Plymouth Horizon, was hit on the front passenger side. How we survived I do not know! Even the police officers that investigated the accident had no logical reason why we were able to survive that accident.
I love you Doug & Phil!!! We are very, very, very blessed to still be alive after what we went through 23 years ago today!!!

Sacred Sunday

"...stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. As we go through life we try to 'accentuate the positive.' Look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment virtue and effort." Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley

Park City Get-Away

Park City Get-Away

My friend Angie invited us up to Park City this week. They have ownership in the Westgate Resort at The Canyons. We went up Wednesday afternoon and stayed until Thursday afternoon. We didn't want to leave! We had an awesome time! I wish we could do this more often. I don't know how to post this with a slide show, so the slide show is coming (or you already saw it before you read this). Anyway, it was a lot of fun! Thanks for inviting us Angie!!!
