Released from my calling . . . Now what???

Well, I knew it was coming sometime soon. I was released as the Primary President today. I have been Primary President for the past 2-1/2 years. I was Primary Secretary for 2 years before that. So, this will be different for me!

Jason and I were called to be the Activities Committee Chairmen. Can you believe that? Now it will be me planning activities for the whole ward and not just the primary kids. Not sure what we think of this calling yet ; )

The first activity for us is the ward camp out. Does anyone remember when we have ever camped? We have 4 sleeping bags and a 2 man tent for the 7 of us. That will be interesting to see!!! After that we are in charge of planning the activities. Another funny thing about this calling is that Jason absolutely HATES going to ward parties : )

Wish us luck . . .

Decorating the graves

Grandma, Zac and I went out today (Friday) to put flowers on lots of different graves. We wanted to beat the Memorial Day rush. We had a very nice time! We went to Taylorsville Cemetery, Murray Cemetery and then Valley View Cemetery. Zac and I learned how to clean up the headstones and anchor flower pots to the graves. Zac walked around the cemetery to find flowers that had blown over and set them right on the graves. He also had a great time collecting pinecones. It was kind of freaky when Grandma stood on her half of the headstone at Grandpa Mackay's grave. I told her it would be a long, long time before we have to come visit her there!!!

Zac's Preschool Graduation

Zac graduated from Preschool on May 22, 2008. He received a diploma and a yearbook from his teacher, Miss Becky. The kids did a cute program for the parents. They explained all the things they talked about through the school year. It was cute! Zac had a great time in preschool this year!

Where did it go?

Where did the mission pictures go? I figured out how to delete and edit things. It took me a week to figure it out. I thought I would delete them instead of having Jason not read my posts. Things we do for those we love ; )

Jason & Allison

This is where it all began . . .
This is our group of missionaries leaving the England London South Mission on April 15, 1991. Jason is the one peaking his head into the picture on the back left side. I am the one second from the right.

Jason and I flew home from the same mission at the same time. I knew who he was and he knew who I was, but we didn't officially "meet" until our mission president's homecoming in July 1991. Our mission mom asked if I had been dating much since coming home from my mission. I told her no. She told me it was okay to look around there at the homecoming. She said there was a huge group of wonderful elders to choose from. I found the best one!

Jason and I had our first date August 3, 1991 up in Cache Valley. Our second date was in Salt Lake on August 10. We got engaged the next day (yes, 8 days after our first date). We were married in the Jordan River Temple on October 25, 1991. Now here we are 16 years later and counting . . .

Megan

Megan was upset that I didn't have any pictures of her on my blog. I am making her happy by adding some now. Isn't she cute? The one with the guy in it is Megan and Andrea and JT (the vampire guy at Lagoon). Then there is a picture of Megan on her 15th birthday. Isn't she beautiful? The last picture is a flash back of Megan, Amanda and Kiara. Weren't they adorable?

Softball Game

Kristen was the catcher at the game tonight. She did such a great job! She is so cute in the gear that barely fits her.

Grandma Mackay, Mom and Dad were there to watch her play. Zac was busy climbing the backstop fence. We had a lot of fun!

Before & During ... waiting patiently for the After!

BEFORE :
Okay, so I can't believe I am actually posting this on my blog. The reason I am doing this is to help myself to stay with my dieting and exercising. This was a picture of me (with Amanda) July 2007.

DURING:
This is me on my sister's wedding day (April 18, 2008). I was 10 pounds lighter and down 3 dress sizes. I am really working hard at losing weight and feeling better about myself.
I'm on the way to my goal. Keep encouraging me! I can use all the help and encouragement I can get ; )

Zac & his buddies (Zach and Jaxon)

Our kids

Megan is 15 and getting ready to promote from 9th grade. She is looking forward to getting her learner's permit soon. I have been taking her driving around the neighborhood as often as I can. She loves it!

Amanda is 14 in exactly 16 days. She is planning on going to France in June/July '09 with a school tour. She is a student body officer at Jefferson Jr. High next year. She will be the Media Specialist. She is excited about that!

Lexi is 10. Just this past week she talked Zac into switching rooms with her. She thinks it is wonderful to be the only one in the family to have her own bedroom. Now she wants a new tv, a DVD, more furniture, etc. She is off track right now and loving every minute being home with her mom!
Kristen just turned 8 and was baptized. She is excited to come back to Bacchus Elementary next year where all her friends are. She is quite the social butterfly these days. Kristen was excited to share a room with Zac until she found out how messy he can really be.

Zac is 4-1/2. He is getting ready to have his preschool graduation program in a few weeks. He has been learning a lot of fun stuff at school. His favorite letter is Z, number 4 and his favorite animal is a zebra. He loves hanging out with his best friends Zach and Jaxon. It is nice to have some boys for Zac to hang with!!!

Mocha's Birthday

Lexi had a birthday party planned for Mocha's 1st birthday. She invited Mocha's parents, Mali & Chyna to come to the party (and their owners). We had cupcakes and treats. The dogs had doggie treats. It was a fun party!
